help lost how to conjugate spanish verbs
There are several search boxes available in various places:

  • The main search looks for content in all our databases by a Spanish verb or its inflected form, English verb, tense name and other criteria. It’s available on the Search page, at the middle of the Home page and from any location at the top of the left column (Search the Site)
  • The Exercises section has its own search at the top of the page for finding exercises by a Spanish verb or a phrase
  • The Conjugator has its own search at the top of the page for finding conjugation charts by a Spanish verb

This Help page describes the main search.

Search – Main Features

What can be found using the Search on this website

Our Search is capable of finding the following information:

  • Spanish verb infinitives by their inflected forms – Reverse Verb Lookup
  • Spanish verbs translation to English
  • English verbs translation to Spanish
  • Articles and presentations relevant to the search phrase
  • Convenient links to activities related to the selected verb and the chosen tense, like exercises and conjugation lessons

Further details on the items from this list are provided below in separate descriptions.

Reverse verb lookup | Find a Spanish verb infinitive by its inflected forms

The Search is capable of finding Spanish verb infinitives by their inflected forms. It supports misspelled words as well, where an accent or another Spanish special character is missing.

For instance, if you look for hablamos Search will recognize that it’s an inflected form of hablar and provide related details:

  • hablar has an inflected form hablamos in the first person plural of the tense Presente, Indicativo mood
  • hablar has an inflected form hablamos in the first person plural of the tense Pretérito Perfecto Simple, Indicativo mood

Try a few words like funde, para, hable to see that they sometimes appear in multiple tenses for a given verb, at times differing only by an accent. This exercise helps to get rid of some confusion around Wasn’t this form already used in another tense?

Regular usage of the reverse verb lookup or general search is most convenient with our Search Engine Plugin / Search Provider: Reverse Spanish Verb Lookup. More info on using search plugins: support.mozilla.org.

Spanish verbs translation to English

Look for a Spanish verb in its infinitive form or any of the conjugated forms to find a translation from Spanish to English.

Misspelled words are recognized as well, where an accent or another Spanish special character is missing.

In every language there are many words that, sometimes in different contexts, have the same or similar meaning. So for instance, if you look for drink or to drink you will get beber, tomar, consumir, etc.
