In this conjugation lesson we will see how to inflect the verb encantar in the Futuro tense of the Indicativo mood. It means we will see step by step how to create and translate forms of each grammatical person.

How to translate Futuro to English

Note that the English phrases provided below next to each conjugation are not direct translations from Spanish to English. They are usually the closest general equivalents. The example differences are:

• In Spanish conjugation, there is the form usted in the third person singular. But this person does not translate to the English third person singular. It translates to the so called formal you and uses the inflected form which is most often represented as he/she/it in English conjugation charts.
• Similar situation happens in the third person plural, where ustedes translates to the English plural formal you but uses the form which corresponds to the they form in English.
• Tenses are used differently in Spanish and English, so the actual translation should always take into account the context and focus on translating the meaning, not just words.
• In both languages each verb may have multiple meanings and not every meaning translates directly to the other language. Here also, the context and focusing on the particular meaning helps to create the most accurate translation.

The ability to accurately locate the desired position on the timeline is a crucial skill for proper choice of tenses. So pay attention to the timeline in our lessons and visualize it while listening, speaking, reading or writing. After a bit practice you will be capable of selecting the right tense to use much easier.

Step by step instructions

Futuro belongs to the simple tenses group, which means that all of its inflected forms are one word long. There are also compound (compuesto) tenses in Spanish language, where each inflected verb form consists of two words.The verb encantar has an entirely regular conjugation in the Futuro tense of the Indicativo mood. It means that this verb just follows the basic rules for its conjugation group (-ar) without exceptions. The basis for this conjugation is the infinitive of this verb, so it’s really simple to create, and only a few exceptions exist.Use the infinitive encantar in each person. Next, add to the infinitive the endings specific to each person. In this tense we use the exact same endings in each of the three conjugation groups -ar, -er, -ir. See the image on the side showing all the six endings. Notice the colors and shapes of the letters. They are arranged to help you find patterns and make it easier to remember these endings. Add the regular ending -é for the first person singular to create encantaré:

• yo encantaré – I will love

Also as in the previous case add the regular ending -ás for the second person singular to create encantarás:

• tú encantarás – you will love

Again add the regular ending -á for the third person singular to create encantará:

• él encantará – he will love
• ella encantará – she will love
• usted encantará – (formal) you will love

Also as in the previous case add the regular ending -emos for the first person plural to create encantaremos:

• nosotros encantaremos – we will love
• nosotras encantaremos – (feminine) we will love

And once more add the regular ending -éis for the second person plural to create encantaréis:

• vosotros encantaréis – (plural) you will love
• vosotras encantaréis – (feminine, plural) you will love

As before add the regular ending -án for the third person plural to create encantarán:

• ellos encantarán – they will love
• ellas encantarán – (feminine) they will love
• ustedes encantarán – (formal, plural) you will love

Hurray! The conjugation is now complete. The final result looks as follows:

yo	encantaré	I will love
tú	encantarás	you will love
él/ella/usted	encantará	he/she/it will love
nosotros/nosotras	encantaremos	we will love
vosotros/vosotras	encantaréis	you will love
ellos/ellas/ustedes	encantarán	they will love
